Holiday Book Drive
The Harlem Valley Compassion Connection, Inc is excited to partner with the Harlem Valley Little Free Libraries to host our 4th Annual Holiday Book Drive. We spend all year collecting books about different Winter Holidays and try to find books that recipients will enjoy reading. We support literacy and reading as a family. We love when we can provide titles that encourage young readers to explore interesting topics and the world around them.
To be eligible, families must reside in the Town of Dover (Wingdale, Dover) or the Town of Amenia (Wassaic, Amenia) and the recipients of the toys must be from ages newborn through 17.
Our 2024 Holiday Book Drive will run from October 31st through December 10th. Distribution will take place with the gifts for the Adopt-a-Family Drive.

We do not discriminate based on age, education, sex, gender, ability, or disability.
Request a book bundle
Eligible families must reside in Wingdale, Dover Plains, Wassaic, or Amenia, NY. Beneficiaries of the books must be ages newborn through 17. Immediate family only.
Typically, a book bundle will include 3-5 books chosen based on the reading level indicated when you registered. If you would like to receive a bundle, please complete the sign-up form below.

DONATIONS - want to help?
We are accepting donations of new and gently used books for our Holiday Book Drive. Please text us and include a photo of what you would like to donate. Donated books must not be old, yellowed, sticky, or moldy. They must come from smoke-free homes. (We've seen it all)
Gift Cards
We accept gift cards of all types - Merritt and other local book stores, Amazon, Visa, and Amex Gift Cards. We love Visa and Amex Gift Cards because we can purchase directly from publishers and wholesalers so your donations go farther.
Monetary Donations - Leave it up to us
We accept donations of cash, check, money order, and Venmo for any denomination that you would like to give. All donations that we receive for the Book Drive are spent on books for this drive.
Checks and money orders should be made out to: Harlem Valley Compassion Connection, Inc with a note in the memo section "Book Drive".
